## Description

The Natalie Foundation is a nonprofit organization working to reduce stillbirth in the United States and improve care for families navigating pregnancy after loss. It aims to bring proven, data-driven approaches into U.S. clinical practice, where the foundation says care can lack standardized protocols and adequate coverage. Founded by Fernanda Sheridan, the organization developed a Pregnancy After Loss (PAL) clinical blueprint alongside maternal-fetal medicine specialists. Its model supports specialized clinics that provide more frequent and longer appointments, additional ultrasound examinations, placental profiling, umbilical cord monitoring, and early antepartum admissions, with mental health screening incorporated into visits. The model is active at health systems and clinics including Mount Sinai, Columbia University, the University of Utah, Yale New Haven, UCLA, UCSF, Virtua Health in New Jersey, and Penn State, and is expanding through the USPAL Network. The foundation also funds research into stillbirth causes, particularly placental issues, and supports efforts to strengthen perinatal pathology.
