The National SEED Project is a brand that partners with communities, organizations, and institutions to create transformative learning experiences. Through self-reflection, structured dialogue, and systemic analysis, SEED brings people together to learn, build relationships, and drive social change. Their aim is to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion while centering wholeness and wellness for all involved. SEED provides professional development opportunities for leaders, equipping them to facilitate conversations that promote social change within their institutions. After the initial New Leaders Training, SEED offers ongoing support and resources for leaders to develop their own seminars in their communities. These seminars focus on personal reflection, listening to others' voices, and deepening understanding of systems of power and oppression. Since 1987, SEED has trained over 4,000 leaders from 1,200 partner sites, including educators, parents, community leaders, and public employees from various sectors. Their efforts span across 45 U.S. SEED is co-directed by Gail Cruise-Roberson and Emmy Howe at the Wellesley Centers for Women in Massachusetts, and Jondou Chase Chen at the Southeast Seattle Education Coalition in Washington.
