## Description

The National Trust is a statutory body established under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Government of India, aimed at uplifting persons with disabilities, including those with autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, and multiple disabilities. Founded under the National Trust for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities Act of 1999, it champions the vision of an inclusive society that respects human diversity and empowers individuals to live independently with dignity and equal rights.

The National Trust’s mission revolves around creating an enabling environment through capacity development initiatives for persons with disabilities and their families. It offers a variety of schemes, including the Disha, Vikaas, and Samarth programs, all designed to provide tailored support and services. It collaborates with local organizations and committees to extend resources and guidance. By facilitating rights and opportunities for individuals with disabilities, the National Trust plays a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive society and advocating for transformative change across India.
