## Description

NatureWorks is a leading brand that specializes in the manufacturing of Ingeo brand polylactic acid (PLA) and lactides. Their products are greenhouse gas-based materials that are used to create a wide range of plastics and fibers. Since its establishment as a research project in 1989, NatureWorks has grown to become a global leader in biopolymers. Their Ingeo portfolio consists of naturally advanced materials that are made from renewable and abundant feedstocks. These materials offer both performance and economic benefits that rival traditional oil-based intermediates, plastics, and fibers. Additionally, they provide brand owners with cradle-to-cradle options for their products after use. NatureWorks is jointly owned by PTT Global Chemical and Cargill, two reputable companies in the chemical and agricultural industries. With a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Nebraska, USA, NatureWorks has a solid production capacity of 330 million pounds (150,000 metric tons) of Ingeo biopolymer. They operate globally and work with numerous converters, brand owners, and retailers to introduce naturally advanced products in various industries such as packaging, food serviceware, health and personal care, and 3D printing.
