## Description

Naturschutz zum Mitmachen is an environmental and nature-conservation initiative led by Franz Proksch, born in 1948 and based in Hirschaid, Germany. The website encourages visitors to take practical action to protect nature, biodiversity and the shared foundations of life. Its content explores environmental topics including soil, air, forests, water and species loss, alongside nature and health, food, traditional knowledge, and the relationship between Christianity and environmental responsibility. Visitors can also browse information about heritage apple and pear varieties, nature photography featuring birds, animals, plants and landscapes, and events and dates. Current articles address issues such as air travel and climate impact, plastic pollution, hunger, technological progress and barriers to climate protection. Proksch describes the site as an evolving source of ideas and practical guidance, and invites people to develop their own conservation projects, share suggestions through the website and connect through links to like-minded initiatives. He is a member of Arche Noah, Bund Naturschutz, the Bavarian State Association for Bird Protection and SOL Austria.
