## Description

Natuurlijk Thuys is a parent-led residential initiative in Vught, the Netherlands, creating a warm and secure home for young adults with intellectual disabilities and other support needs. Its small-scale community is designed for 11 residents, who have suitable work or daytime activities outside the home. With care available around the clock, the initiative combines support with opportunities for residents to live as independently as possible and exercise personal choice.

Located at Kloostergoed Theresia, the home offers a green setting close to shops, public transport, nature and the wider community. Wellbeing, safety and individual attention guide its approach, alongside the values of vitality, connection, a welcoming home and individuality. Natuurlijk Thuys aims to help residents develop, feel accepted and take part in community life, while giving families reassurance and opportunities to stay involved.

The organization relies on support from donors, partner organizations and volunteers to establish and sustain the home. Contributions can include funding, materials, expertise, community outreach or time spent supporting residents.
