## Description

NAU, or Netværket af Ungdomsråd, is a nonpartisan Danish interest and umbrella organisation connecting 45 youth councils and youth centres across Denmark. Its purpose is to strengthen members’ work and build relationships between local groups, helping young people participate and influence decisions that affect their communities.

NAU supports members through guidance, skills-building courses, workshops and opportunities to share experiences. It also brings youth council members together at regional and national events, including network meetings, seminars and an annual gathering. Its resources include publications and DemokratiStarteren, a digital toolkit designed to help youth councils involve more young people, identify key issues and develop ideas.

Alongside member support, NAU represents the youth council movement in political discussions. Its advocacy includes efforts to make it a legal requirement for municipalities to have a youth council. The organisation also shares news about youth participation, local councils and related projects in Denmark and internationally. NAU is based in Copenhagen and connects members through its network and events.
