## Description

The Naval Historical Society of Australia (NHSA) is a community organisation dedicated to preserving and promoting Australia’s naval history. Its resources help people explore more than 233 years of maritime and naval heritage, with over 2,000 articles covering ships, service, people and events. Visitors can use research guides, library information, naval service records resources, historical booklets, newsletters, podcasts, videos and other educational materials. The Society also highlights heritage locations, including Cockatoo Island, Garden Island, HMVS Cerberus and significant shipwreck sites, through online information and guided experiences.

NHSA offers group tours and cruises led by experienced guides, including explorations of naval history in Sydney Harbour, as well as walking tours and art-related experiences. Its website features historical articles, book reviews, an “On This Day” timeline and a calendar of events. People interested in Australian naval heritage can join the Society, volunteer to support preservation and outreach, attend talks and events, or contribute through donations. The NHSA also provides research assistance for visitors seeking answers about naval history.
