## Description

National Capital FreeNet (NCF) is a not-for-profit social enterprise and local internet service provider serving the National Capital Region. Guided by a commitment to digital equity, it aims to keep internet access affordable while investing in reliable bandwidth and community services. Its home internet plans offer unlimited usage, with download speeds ranging from 6 Mbps to 1,500 Mbps, and it also provides business internet, email and dial-up service.

NCF pairs connectivity with hands-on support from its staff and trained community volunteers, available by phone, email or in person. Its workshops and online resources help people build digital skills, covering computer and internet use, cybersecurity, digital privacy, copyright, social media and ways to save money online. Through its CommuniFi pilot, NCF works with community organizations to provide free neighbourhood Wi-Fi in Vanier, Overbrook and parts of Lowertown and Sandy Hill.

The organization also advances digital equity through advocacy, a Community Access Fund, e-waste collection and opportunities to volunteer.
