About
Description
North Carolina FCCLA is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization that focuses on Family and Consumer Sciences education. With over 200,000 members in more than 5,500 chapters across 50 states, including the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, NC FCCLA aims to make a difference in families, careers, and communities by addressing important issues. Their projects cover various youth concerns such as teen pregnancy, parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, peer pressure, environment, nutrition and fitness, teen violence, and career exploration.
As the only national Career and Technical Student Organization with the family as its central focus, NC FCCLA offers opportunities for personal growth and leadership development. Members have the chance to develop essential life skills like planning, goal setting, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal communication, which are necessary both at home and in the workplace. The organization's mission is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education, focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader.
NC FCCLA aims to strengthen the function of the family as a basic unit of society and to encourage democracy and cooperation in the home and community. They also strive to foster greater understanding between youth and adults and to prepare members for the multiple roles they will assume in today's society. FCCLA's program emphasis lies in being the only in-school student organization that puts the family at the forefront.
As a career and technical student organization, NC FCCLA is an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum, providing active student participation opportunities at the local, state, and national levels. With a membership of 200,000 young men and women in nearly 5,500 chapters nationwide, NC FCCLA has involved over nine million youth since its establishment in 1945. Financially supported by student membership dues and additional funds raised from individuals, corporations, and foundations, FCCLA is endorsed by the U.
S. Department of Education and the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. To connect with North Carolina FCCLA or learn more about their initiatives, you can reach out to their contact information provided.
