The Native Council of Prince Edward Island (Epekwitk) is a self-governing authority for Indigenous people living off-reserve in traditional Mi’kmaq territory. Their vision is to have a strong political and structured organization that effectively deals with governments and pursues renewal while expanding their activities. The Native Council of PEI aims to be strong in economic development by developing business, tourism, and services for the organization and its members.


They also focus on establishing social activities that nurture Indigenous identities and host culturally sensitive programs for children, youth, adults, and Elders. Offering a wide range of programs and services, the Native Council of PEI is committed to uniting today for a better tomorrow.
