The National Center for Teacher Residencies (NCTR) is a leading organization dedicated to developing, launching, supporting, and accelerating the impact of teacher residency programs. NCTR aims to address enduring and systemic inequities in school systems by building and developing teacher residencies as a strategic lever.

These residencies blend a rigorous, full-year classroom apprenticeship with closely aligned academic coursework. Teacher residents gain hands-on experience alongside highly trained mentor teachers in their future school districts.

Graduates of these programs have shown success in increasing instructional effectiveness. Since its establishment in 2007, NCTR has helped launch over 70 teacher residency programs, preparing a diverse pool of talented educators.
