The National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring quality, accessible, and culturally-competent health and public health services for American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/ANs) living in urban settings. As the only national organization advocating for the health of urban AI/AN populations, NCUIH connects tribal leaders to policymakers, federal officials, and the public, improving the quality of health services for urban Indians. For over 20 years, NCUIH has been advocating for health equity in urban AI/AN communities.

They provide critical technical assistance, training, policy support, and other services to urban AI/AN individuals across the United States. Their vision is a nation where comprehensive, culturally competent personal and public health services are available and accessible to AI/ANs living in urban areas. NCUIH works closely with federal agencies, policymakers, and the general public to address health disparities and the needs of urban AI/AN populations.

They facilitate communication and collaboration between urban and tribal leaders, foster relationships between Urban Indian Organizations (UIOs) and mainstream health research centers, and raise awareness among media outlets. They also cultivate political and managerial leadership among urban AI/AN youth and establish connections with private foundations, corporations, and donors.
