## Description

The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) is Sri Lanka's leading governmental authority dedicated to combating drug abuse and its associated challenges. Established in 1984 through the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board Act No. 11, the NDDCB plays a pivotal role in formulating national policies aimed at the prevention and treatment of drug-related issues. The board operates four specialized treatment and rehabilitation centers located in Colombo, Kandy, Galle, and Gampaha, offering essential counseling and residential care for individuals struggling with substance dependence.

In addition to treatment services, the NDDCB conducts national educational and outreach programs to raise awareness about drug abuse among both children and adults. The organization is committed to ongoing research into the societal and economic impacts of drug abuse, working collaboratively with various local, national, and international agencies to enhance prevention methods. Their vision is to cultivate a drug-free society, ensuring healthy and secure lives for all citizens.
