## Description

Northern Digital Inc. (NDI) develops precision optical and electromagnetic tracking technology for integration into original equipment manufacturer (OEM) medical devices. Its tracking components and integration-ready platforms provide positional data for medical systems used in image-guided navigation and positioning. NDI works with OEM partners from early development through integration and commercialization.

NDI’s Polaris optical tracking technology uses near-infrared light to detect passive or active markers, delivering real-time six-degree-of-freedom position and orientation data. Its Aurora electromagnetic tracking technology is designed for small device assemblies and confined settings where optical line of sight may be obstructed, including rigid or flexible instruments such as endoscopes, guidewires, and catheters. NDI also offers 3D Guidance electromagnetic tracking products.

The company’s products include optical trackers, markers, electromagnetic electronic units, field generators, sensors, accessories, development tools, and software. Its technologies support OEM applications across cardiology, cranial and spinal procedures, orthopaedics, interventional oncology, ear, nose and throat, pulmonology, and urology. NDI provides integration and technical support, alongside development resources, case studies, product documentation, and software packages.
