About
Description
Notre Dame Mission Volunteers AmeriCorps is a volunteer organization that is dedicated to expanding access to education. Founded in 1992 by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, our mission is to bring about positive change by placing volunteers with communities around the world. We believe that education is a powerful tool in the struggle for human dignity and self-esteem.
Our volunteers work tirelessly to build community and bridge cultural divides. Notre Dame Mission Volunteers offers various services to support education and empowerment. We provide small-group and one-on-one instruction, serving in crowded classrooms and community centers.
Our AmeriCorps members serve full-time for 11 months, receiving professional development opportunities and support from local site directors. Additionally, we have partnered with AmeriCorps to form Notre Dame β AmeriCorps (NDA), which has over 400 members serving in 24 cities annually. In 2006, we launched Notre Dame β International (NDI) to place volunteers with Sisters abroad, focusing on educating and training women and children.
We also have the Boulangerie Notre Dame in Les Cayes, Haiti. Explore our International page for more information. Join us in our mission to promote education, community empowerment, leadership development, and multicultural harmony.
Together, we can make a difference
