## Description

NearStar Fusion is a fusion energy company developing a scalable, modular approach to producing clean, always-on power. Its Magnetized Target Impact Fusion (MTIF) design builds on pulsed fusion and is intended to avoid some of the complexities of maintaining plasma in a steady state. The company’s proposed power plant combines a fusion driver, fuel capsule and reaction chamber, with a design intended for parallel production and integration with existing power grids or microgrids. NearStar also aims to retrofit the heat source in conventional power plants, potentially making use of existing turbines and grid infrastructure.

The company’s work draws on the experience of a team of plasma physicists, engineers and industry experts, and it shares information through scientific papers, a library, news and press releases. NearStar is also exploring applications for its railgun technology in fusion propulsion, which it says could support faster interplanetary travel. The company invites public investment through the StartEngine equity crowdfunding platform, with investments starting at USD $300, and welcomes inquiries about its work and opportunities to get involved.
