## Description

The Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Special Education, operated by The New England Center for Children (MRC-NECC), is an Abu Dhabi-based organization focused on education and support for children with autism. It is the local branch of NECC, which began serving children with autism and their families near Boston in 1975. Established in Abu Dhabi in 2007, the center draws on NECC’s experience in autism education and research, including more than 20 years of work in Abu Dhabi.

MRC-NECC offers an early intervention program, preschool and day programs for children aged 3 to 14, vocational education, and integration programs and classrooms that support students’ participation in school. Its staff includes behavior analysts and specialists from a range of disciplines, and the center provides information about admissions, school policies, and its team. MRC-NECC also shares research publications and resources to help people understand autism. Through its educational programs and services, the center supports children with autism and their families while promoting school integration and opportunities to develop vocational interests and experience.
