NEC Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aims to create a world without necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) through extensive research, advocacy, and education. Founded by Jennifer Canvasser in January 2014 after her own tragic experience with NEC, the NEC Society collaborates with expert clinicians and researchers worldwide to gain a deeper understanding of NEC, prevent its occurrence, and develop effective treatments for this devastating neonatal intestinal disease. Committed to combining the patient-family perspective with evidence-based solutions, the NEC Society actively works towards improving outcomes for the most vulnerable infants at risk of NEC.
