## Description

Deep in the heart of Saitama Prefecture lies the vibrant city of Fukaya, renowned for its annual Fukaya Negi Festival, celebrated every last Sunday in January. The festival serves as a cultural homage to the iconic Fukaya Negi (green onion), a local delicacy that serves as a symbol of the city. Organized by a dedicated committee of local volunteers, the festival is rooted in a deep appreciation for food and community spirit.

The event showcases five major attractions, including a ceremonial offering at the Takimiya Shrine and the unique "Fukaya Calçots," where visitors can enjoy grilled Fukaya Negi prepared in the traditional Catalonian style. Additionally, the festival features a Negi Market, where local restaurants present a variety of dishes, and direct sales of different Fukaya Negi varieties from farmers. The Fukaya Negi Festival not only celebrates this special crop but also fosters a sense of gratitude and connection to local agriculture, making it a must-visit event for food lovers and culture enthusiasts alike.
