## Description

Nemesis is a Mediterranean soil health initiative focused on combating desertification and land degradation through a network of community-driven Living Labs. The project brings together partners across 12 countries to develop and test practical solutions shaped by local conditions, scientific data, and community needs. Its approach emphasizes inclusive participation, shared ownership, and stronger soil stewardship, with the aim of adapting successful practices for wider use.

The network includes five Living Labs addressing distinct regional priorities: soil-water management in Cyprus, soil biodiversity in France, soil-crop systems in Italy, soil-pasture systems in Spain, and cross-border soil management in Tunisia and Algeria. Nemesis also shares resources and short papers, publishes news and updates, and runs open calls to attract additional experimental sites and advanced technology to its work.

Coordinated by the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence in Cyprus, the 48-month project involves 36 partners and has a stated budget of €11.9 million. It is funded by the European Union under grant agreement 101219087.
