## Description

Neotoma Paleoecology Database, known as NeotomaDB, is a community-curated online resource supporting global-change research and education. It brings together paleoecological and paleoenvironmental data from contributing databases, helping researchers and other users find, explore, and contribute evidence about past environments. The site reports a collection of more than 31,000 sites, 14 million datapoints, 46,000 datasets, and 15,000 publications.

NeotomaDB offers tools and services for working with these data, including the Neotoma Explorer, an API, the Tilia software, an R package, and a Hierarchical Taxonomy Viewer. Users can browse recent uploads, search for data, access database snapshots, and review data-use and embargo policies. Contributors can submit data, while researchers can find guidance for proposal preparation and IT support. The organization also supports an active community through webinars, outreach resources, tutorials, news, and events. By combining shared data infrastructure with research tools and community engagement, NeotomaDB serves scientists, educators, and others interested in understanding past environmental change.
