## Description

Friends of Netarts Bay Watershed, Estuary, Beach, and Sea, known as WEBS, is a community-focused nonprofit working to sustain the coastal area between Cape Meares and Cape Lookout through education and stewardship. Inspired by longtime Netarts resident and community leader Jim Mundell, the organization helps people learn about the region’s natural and cultural resources and encourages lasting care for this distinctive place. WEBS uses the Netarts Bay area as a learning environment for understanding watersheds, estuaries, beaches, and the sea, while building partnerships and a community of lifelong learners.

Its programs serve both local residents and students. WEBS offers place-based school programs for children from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, as well as virtual community learning opportunities. The organization also hosts more than 40 free community events annually, including paddles, hikes, tours, and beach walks. Community science projects, volunteer opportunities, scholarships, educational resources, videos, and a newsletter further connect people with the coast.
