About

Description

NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice is an inclusive, national, Catholic advocacy organization that works to achieve equity and justice for everyone. Founded in 1972 by Catholic Sisters, they are open to all who share their values and are dedicated to transforming society by shaping federal policies rooted in Gospel values and the Catholic social justice tradition. NETWORK's mission is to achieve racial, economic, and social justice by serving the common good and honoring the dignity of all.

They envision a future where a diverse national movement of justice-seekers mobilize to influence federal policies that dismantle systemic racism, center equity and reparatory justice, achieve economic justice, protect our democracy, and preserve our environment. At the heart of their work is a commitment to centering racial justice and equity and dismantling systemic racism in our society. NETWORK engages in the ongoing work to become a multicultural anti-racist organization and values women's leadership, welcomes and affirms members of the LGBTQ+ community, and accepts and appreciates people from diverse religious and secular backgrounds.

As an organization founded by Catholic Sisters, NETWORK advocates for economic equity and places a strong emphasis on the option for the poor, prioritizing the needs of people who are economically disenfranchised over the wants of those who are rich. They are dedicated to pursuing Gospel justice with joy and persistence, prioritizing the well-being of those at the margins, and working collaboratively in community.
