## Description

Neurodiverse by Design LLC helps organizations and individuals better understand and support neurodiversity through thoughtful communication, education, and practical guidance. Founded by Dr. Laura DeThorne, the consultancy draws on her 20 years of expertise in communication, autism, and neurodiversity, informed by her experience as a speech-language pathologist, researcher, teacher, mentor, administrator, and parent. Its work is grounded in the idea that people communicate, solve problems, and experience the world in different ways, while many organizations lack the knowledge and practices to support those differences effectively.

The company offers customizable professional education, including courses and workshops on autism, communication differences, neurodiversity, evidence-based practices, and research methods. It also provides one-on-one communication coaching focused on leadership development and conflict resolution through a neurodiversity-affirming lens. For organizations developing inclusive environments, Neurodiverse by Design assists with preparing policies, grants, and evidence-based articles. The consultancy also engages in partnerships and community initiatives, including work to expand integrated employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
