## Description

The New Brighton Area Historical Society is a community organization dedicated to discovering, preserving, and sharing the history of New Brighton and its surrounding area. Its work documents the region’s exploration, settlement, development, and everyday life, including its people, communities, industries, education, arts, and cultural institutions. The society collects and preserves historical materials such as photographs, printed publications, manuscripts, oral histories, and artifacts that help illustrate life across different periods.

Visitors and researchers can explore the society’s archives, including a photography collection of more than 4,000 vintage images, and learn about local history through the New Brighton History Center and its virtual tour. The organization also shares historical information through news and publications, public programs, meetings, lectures, discussions, and tours. Its activities include marking historic buildings, sites, and trails, as well as hosting community events such as the annual Rhubarb Fest. The society welcomes people interested in researching, experiencing, and helping preserve the history of the New Brighton area.
