## Description

The New Climate Economy is a global initiative focused on showing how countries can achieve lasting, inclusive economic growth while reducing climate risks. Its 2014 report, Better Growth, Better Climate, presents a pathway for building prosperous, low-carbon and climate-resilient economies. Drawing on advice from leading economists, the Global Commission sets out a ten-point action plan for governments and businesses, emphasizing the need for political leadership and consistent policies.

The report explores key areas including cities, land use, energy, finance, innovation and international cooperation, alongside dedicated country cases for China, India and the United States. It offers an executive summary, detailed chapters, working papers, videos and downloadable resources to help readers examine the evidence and recommendations. The initiative’s central message is that investment and innovation can support higher living standards, vibrant and inclusive cities, poverty reduction and environmental protection at the same time. It also warns that delay makes climate risks more severe, and calls for urgent action to steer economic development toward a resilient, low-carbon future.
