## Description

TIN-X (Target Importance and Novelty Explorer) is an interactive research tool developed through a collaboration involving the University of New Mexico, the University of Copenhagen, and the University of Miami. It helps researchers explore associations between diseases and potential drug targets by visualizing how important and novel those relationships appear in published biomedical literature. Using natural language processing on PubMed content, TIN-X identifies mentions of diseases and proteins and calculates two measures: importance, reflecting the strength of an association, and novelty, reflecting how rarely a target or disease is discussed.

Users can browse diseases or targets, view results in plots or sortable, searchable tables, and filter findings by target development level, IDG family, and disease category. The tool also provides publication details and links to articles on PubMed, helping users investigate the evidence behind associations. Version 3.0 expanded the dataset, added table views, and modernized the underlying system and API.
