It has become more diverse in terms of staff and board members, shifted towards a post-capitalist project, and implemented a democratic membership governance structure. NEC is currently transitioning into a worker self-directed nonprofit, ensuring accountability to its membership. NEC's team includes passionate individuals like Samara, the Interim IT Manager, who dreams of starting a community tool library, Zac, the Resource Mobilization Director, with expertise in food systems organizing, and Manuela, the Donor Engagement Director, who aims to build a cross-class, multi-racial network of supporters for the solidarity economy movement.
