## Description

New Hand Lab is a cultural association and creative hub based in Covilhã, Portugal. Rooted in the city’s textile heritage, it connects the region’s history with contemporary artistic practice. The organisation promotes creation, experimentation and innovation across textiles, design, media arts and heritage, developing artistic and cultural projects that bring together place and new ideas. Through this work, New Hand Lab seeks to raise the profile of Covilhã and the Beira Interior region within Portugal and internationally.

Visitors can explore the space through guided tours, normally offered from Monday to Friday at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Visits on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays may be arranged by reservation, subject to availability and an agreed time. The association also presents a programme of cultural activities and projects, and offers industrial tourism experiences connected to its setting and textile legacy. New Hand Lab’s work preserves local stories while providing a platform for creative approaches to the region’s past and future.
