## Description

Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange in Penzance is a contemporary art destination that offers an extensive and diverse exhibition program across two sites. With a commitment to supporting the creativity and well-being of the community, the gallery presents contemporary work in various media and engages audiences through a range of events. Established in 1895, Newlyn Art Gallery has a rich history and has been showcasing contemporary art for over 110 years. In 2007, the gallery expanded its program by acquiring Penzance's former telephone exchange, providing new space to reflect the diversity of artists' practice in Cornwall, the UK, and internationally. Beyond its physical spaces, Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange is dedicated to making a positive impact on the communities it serves. Inspired by the vision of philanthropist John Passmore Edwards, the gallery believes in the transformative power of art and its ability to address social challenges and environmental issues. As an educational arts charity and a member of Plus Tate, Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange is committed to accessibility and excellence in the arts. It is a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England and works in collaboration with local partners and national organizations to broaden engagement and create measurable changes in people's lives. Experience the vibrant world of contemporary art at Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange and discover how art can make a difference.
