## Description

The Newmarket Juried Art Show (NJAS) is a vibrant initiative co-directed by David Kempton and Peggy Stevens, dedicated to promoting the arts as a fundamental element of strong and resilient communities. Established in 2018, the NJAS aims to position Newmarket as a central hub for artistic expression, emphasizing the critical role that the arts play in shaping community culture, especially in addressing global challenges like climate change. Each year, the show invites artists from various Ontario communities to showcase their work at The Old Town Hall galleries, fostering a diverse and inclusive artistic environment. The NJAS includes a range of events, from an open call for artists to public receptions, allowing the community to engage with and support local talent. The upcoming 2026 show is set to take place from April 14 to April 25, featuring a live reception on April 16. With a commitment to showcasing creativity, the NJAS invites all to participate in a celebration of art and community resilience.
