## Description

New Platt Fisheries is a members-only still-water trout fishery in the rural countryside near Goostrey, Cheshire. For more than thirty years, it has offered fly fishing in a tranquil, secluded setting surrounded by deciduous woodland, plants and birdlife. The fishery was created in the 1980s from flooded quarry workings, and its 37-acre lake includes two islands, varied depths and natural underwater features. Members can fish from boats, the banks or casting platforms, with trout found throughout the lake.

Managed by members for their benefit, New Platt Fisheries aims to improve its fishing, facilities and environment. It gathers biological and scientific data weekly to guide water-quality management and support high standards of fish welfare. The fishery does not offer day tickets, and membership is currently full, with applications accepted for a waiting list. Members may bring adult guests on limited occasions and minors under 18 without charge, subject to the fishery’s rules. Members and guests must hold a current Environment Agency rod licence. The fishery is located in Allostock, Cheshire.
