## Description

New York Thrives is a Huntington, New York retailer focused on products for urban farming, gardening, backyard poultry, beekeeping, and emergency preparedness. Its offerings have included chicken supplies and feed, beekeeping merchandise, gardening and composting equipment, water-storage gear, food-storage products, and books. The store has also carried freeze-dried ice cream, mealworms, golf gifts, and a changing selection of used, collectible, and antique furniture and home décor. One distinctive item promoted by the retailer was the Life Box, a gift and shipping box containing tree seeds and beneficial fungi that can be planted after use. New York Thrives operated a retail store at 1028 Park Avenue in Huntington and also directed customers to online ordering through Thrive Life. The site’s posts document the store’s closure in 2013 and later sales to clear its remaining inventory, including substantial discounts on merchandise. It also mentions local delivery within ten miles of the former store. The brand’s assortment and services were aimed at practical self-sufficiency, outdoor hobbies, thoughtful gifts, and collectible finds.
