## Description

The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) is the nation’s audiovisual cultural institution, dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing Australia’s sights and sounds from the 1890s to the present. Its collection spans film, television, music, radio, advertising, games and other forms of popular culture, offering audiences a way to explore the stories, people and changing experiences that have shaped the country. Through NFSA Online and the NFSA Player, visitors can discover archival material, themed collections, original programs and restored works, including films presented in high-quality formats. The organisation also shares stories and learning resources, supports First Nations engagement, and provides professional services. In Canberra, the NFSA welcomes visitors to its Art Deco building for curated film screenings, special events, displays and audiovisual installations. Its program includes classic and contemporary cinema, seasonal film series, and activities for a range of audiences. By combining collection access, restoration, storytelling and public events, the NFSA connects Australians with the audiovisual heritage held in the national collection.
