## Description

The National Hockey League Officials Association (NHLOA) represents the professional referees and linespersons who officiate National Hockey League games. Founded in 1969 to improve officials’ working conditions, salaries, and benefits, the association supports its members’ careers and promotes professionalism, integrity, and fairness in the game. Its membership includes full-time NHL officials as well as officials who divide their time between the NHL and the American Hockey League.

The NHLOA website documents the history and contributions of current officials and alumni through biographies, career statistics, records, milestones, and Hall of Fame features. Visitors can learn about new hires, promotions, retirements, and notable first NHL and playoff games. The site also provides access to a video rulebook with official interpretations, game situations, and analysis to support officiating knowledge. Additional resources include information about special events, the Zebras Care and Alumni committees, and an apparel store offering NHLOA gear. Through these resources, the association connects fans with the people and standards behind NHL officiating.
