## Description

NIAGADS, the National Institute on Aging Genetics of Alzheimer’s Disease Data Storage Site, is a collaborative initiative between the National Institute on Aging and the University of Pennsylvania. Established in 2012, it supports research by storing and distributing genetics and genomics data related to Alzheimer’s disease, related dementias, and aging to qualified researchers worldwide. Its central offering is the NIAGADS Data Sharing Service (DSS), which provides qualified access to datasets, including data from the Alzheimer’s Disease Sequencing Project and other studies. For information that can be shared publicly, NIAGADS also provides an open-access files portal and annotation resources. Researchers can browse datasets, consult publications and documentation, and find guidance on access, citation, and acknowledgment. The site also offers help hours and resources such as the Open Access Genomics Database, ADVP, GVC Top Hits List, FILER, and VariXam. Supported through an NIH/NIA collaborative agreement, NIAGADS helps make research data accessible through both controlled-access and open-access pathways.
