## Description

Nicap, short for the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena, holds an esteemed position in the history of private UFO investigations. As the foremost membership organization, it has gained recognition as the largest and most influential non-governmental group in this field. Located in Washington, D.C., Nicap, under the leadership of Donald Keyhoe, has been a prominent source of UFO news, catching the attention of the extensive Washington press corps. With a team of up to nine full-time employees, Nicap operates through a global network of investigative sub-committees and scientific advisors. To keep its 14,000-strong membership informed, it publishes the UFO Investigator and numerous special booklets and reports. Notably, Nicap's 1964 UFO Evidence report is revered as a classic in the serious study of the subject. Established in 1956, Nicap emerged from an informal discussion group and has since remained dedicated to unraveling the mysteries surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena.
