## Description

Nicole J. Anderson is an academic and intellectual leader whose work spans philosophy, ethics, cultural studies and the humanities. She is a Professor at Macquarie University in Sydney, an affiliate faculty member at Arizona State University, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Canberra. Her earlier leadership positions include directing Arizona State University’s Institute for Humanities Research, heading a department at Macquarie University, and serving as its Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching.

Anderson’s scholarship explores animal studies, biopolitics, posthumanism and related fields, with a sustained focus on the philosophy of Jacques Derrida and deconstruction. She is the author of Derrida: Ethics Under Erasure and is writing a second book on Derrida. As founding editor of the Derrida Today Journal, published by Edinburgh University Press, she also directs the associated international conference series, which brings scholars together to apply Derrida’s ideas to contemporary issues.

Her projects include co-leading a digitisation and exhibition initiative centred on John Kaldor’s art collection and co-producing the Futures of Democracy podcast with Professor Julian Knowles. Her website features publications, public talks, projects and contact information.
