## Description

Nightcord is an independent, open-source Discord client mod that originated as a fork of Equicord and Vencord, officially launched on February 22, 2026. Designed by a dedicated team, Nightcord aims to provide a faster, more efficient Discord experience without unnecessary bloat or obfuscation. The core client offers enhanced performance with quick startup times, automatic updates, and a robust plugin ecosystem that allows users to easily install community-created plugins directly from Git links.

Beyond the primary client, Nightcord encompasses a variety of tools, including Nightcord TypeScript, which enhances features that users wish Discord would provide, and Nightcord Louder, which optimizes audio for superior voice chat experiences. Additional projects like Soundcord and QxChat further enrich the Nightcord ecosystem by allowing ad-free streaming and real-time communication respectively. Driven by community contributions, Nightcord remains a collaborative effort, inviting developers and users alike to build and improve upon its offerings. Notably, Nightcord operates independently and is not affiliated with Discord Inc., advocating responsible use of third-party clients.
