The district's rich history dates back to the late 1800s when local schools were established to accommodate the growing population. In 1949, Northwest ISD was officially formed when several smaller districts voluntarily consolidated together. Covering 234 square miles, NISD serves all or parts of 14 cities, including Haslet, Justin, Rhome, and Trophy Club.
