Description

National Indian Youth Council, Inc. (NIYC) is a pioneering organization that has been at the forefront of Indian civil rights since the 1960s and 1970s. Established as the first independent Native student organization, NIYC has been dedicated to advocating for Indigenous people's rights of self-determination and the protection of sovereignty.

With a mission to empower Indigenous communities towards self-sufficiency and well-being, NIYC provides valuable services through their Native Professional Advancement Center (NPAC). This workforce development program, made possible by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and the U. S.

Department of Labor, focuses on improving economic opportunities for Indigenous individuals. NIYC also operates field offices in Albuquerque, Farmington, and Gallup, New Mexico, ensuring accessibility for all. Applications are currently being accepted for their Classroom Training Program and Work Experience Program, making it even easier to take advantage of the opportunities NIYC offers.
