## Description

NjooCoin (NJC) is an open-source digital currency designed to make private payments accessible across Africa and worldwide. The project describes NJC as private by default, with transactions intended to conceal senders, recipients, and amounts through technologies including ring signatures, stealth addresses, and RingCT. It also uses Dandelion++ transaction propagation and keeps wallet keys on users’ devices. NjooCoin is built on the RandomX algorithm, which is designed for CPU mining and resistance to specialized mining hardware. The project states that its supply is capped at 18.4 million NJC, with a 60-second block time and low transaction fees. It presents the currency for peer-to-peer payments, cross-border transfers, and everyday transactions, without requiring a bank account for transfers. Planned offerings include command-line wallets for Linux, Windows, and macOS, an Android wallet, and software for running a full node. However, public wallet downloads are currently locked during a pre-mine phase, with availability estimated around December 2026. Users can also compile the software from source.
