NKD is a brand dedicated to decentralization and promoting equal regional development in Serbia. Known as the "Beogradization" of Serbia, NKD strives to understand why the country remains one of the most centralized in Europe. Since 2006, NKD has engaged a vast number of activists and experts to identify laws, regulations, and political and economic practices that contribute to centralization and widen regional disparities.
NKD focuses on various areas, including decentralization and electoral reform, with the aim of empowering civil society organizations and promoting citizen activism. The brand supports authentic local initiatives that bring positive change to communities, working alongside partner organizations such as CRTA, ORCA, Foundation "Jelena Šantić," and Media and Reform Center Niš. Over the years, NKD has supported 127 initiatives in more than 50 communities across Serbia, providing technical and financial assistance where needed.
As a brand, NKD is committed to promoting accountability, combating corruption, and driving meaningful change in the country.
