## Description

Established in 1990, Parkinson Society Newfoundland and Labrador is a registered charity supporting people living with Parkinson’s disease, along with their families, loved ones, and caregivers. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the organization is sustained by donations from individuals, members, and businesses, as well as volunteers’ contributions.

The Society helps people navigate the challenges of Parkinson’s by providing information, resources, services, and programs. Its website offers guidance on understanding the disease, diagnosis, motor and non-motor symptoms, young-onset Parkinson’s, caregiving, and related conditions. It also provides frequently asked questions and encourages people experiencing symptoms to consult a neurologist specializing in movement disorders.

Support and exercise groups in local communities offer opportunities to connect with others, while advocacy, news, events, and its newsletter help keep people informed and involved. Through these resources and programs, Parkinson Society Newfoundland and Labrador aims to ensure that individuals and those who support them do not have to face the journey alone.
