Founded in 1935, Newfoundland & Labrador Public Libraries (NLPL) has been an integral part of the province ever since. With a vision to provide free access to library materials, internet, and programs that cater to the needs of the people, NLPL has established a network of 94 public libraries across communities of all sizes. Divided into four divisions - Western Newfoundland & Labrador, Central, Eastern, and Provincial Resource (St.


John's Public Libraries) - NLPL ensures that their services are accessible to everyone throughout the province. The Provincial Information and Library Resources Board oversees all public library services in Newfoundland and Labrador, operating under the Public Libraries Act. NLPL offers an array of services, including reader services, inter-library loans, accessible library services, literacy programs, and a digital library.


Additionally, NLPL has partnered with participating organizations to provide the NLPL Connect Pass and the Sun Life Financial Musical Instrument Lending Library.
