## Description

The Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi (NMCM) is Malawi’s statutory, non-profit regulatory body for nursing and midwifery education, training, practice, and professional conduct. Established in 1966 under an Act of Parliament, the Council works to uphold professional standards and support the quality and reliability of nursing and midwifery care across the country.

NMCM provides services for nurses, midwives, and people pursuing these professions. Its offerings include professional registration and membership renewal, continuing professional development (CPD), and information on education, training, and career opportunities. The Council also makes standard, application, and examination forms available, and provides access to examination schedules and results. Through its mobile app and online platform, users can access CPD and COVID-19 learning resources.

The Council presents CPD as an important part of professional competence and ongoing development. Its website also shares updates, downloads, tender information, and details about its departments and management. By regulating professional practice and supporting learning, NMCM aims to promote accountability and excellence in nursing and midwifery in Malawi.
