## Description

NMD-samenwerking is a public-sector partnership through which five municipalities in Noord- and Midden-Drenthe coordinate the purchase and oversight of social support and treatment. Its participating municipalities are Aa en Hunze, Assen, Midden-Drenthe, Noordenveld and Tynaarlo. For protected housing, the partnership also works on behalf of De Wolden, Hoogeveen, Meppel and Westerveld in southwest Drenthe. Its purpose is to help provide sustainable, affordable support for local residents under the Dutch Youth Act and Social Support Act (Wmo).

The organisation manages procurement and contracts for services including youth care, household support, day activities, crisis care, Wmo accommodation and assistive devices. It publishes procurement opportunities, supports providers with contracting and invoicing information, and offers resources such as product overviews, tariffs and evaluation forms. NMD-samenwerking also monitors the quality of support through its supervisors, while providers remain responsible for delivering good-quality services. Its website provides guidance on reporting incidents, concerns about quality or compliance, and related oversight policies. The five municipalities collectively support or treat nearly 11,000 residents each year through this collaboration.
