## Description

The National Museum of Ireland is a public museum dedicated to exploring and sharing Ireland’s archaeology, culture, history, science, decorative arts, military history, natural history, and folklore. Its collections and exhibitions invite visitors to discover objects and stories spanning Irish life and heritage. The Museum operates four locations: Collins Barracks in Dublin, focused on decorative arts and military history; Kildare Street, home to archaeology; Turlough Park in County Mayo, dedicated to folklife; and Merrion Street, which houses natural history and is currently closed for renovations.

Visitors can explore permanent galleries, temporary exhibitions, online collection resources, and events, including guided tours, talks, demonstrations, and family activities. The Museum also provides learning programmes, workshops, and resources for primary and post-primary schools, alongside accessibility initiatives such as Irish Sign Language tours and quiet visiting hours. Its research and community work includes the Irish Community Archive Network, which supports digital community archives across Ireland. Admission to its locations is free.
