Northern Nevada Literacy Council (NNLC) is a brand that aims to help adult learners achieve their educational and career goals. They offer a range of programs and resources designed to support individuals in their learning journey. NNLC provides free classes for adults who want to complete their Certificate of High School Equivalency (HSE), which was formerly known as the GED.

They also offer free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and free Citizenship classes for foreign-born adults. In addition, NNLC supports career pathways and offers the John and Karin Jelavich Scholarship, enabling learners to gain the necessary skills for employment. The Council has had numerous success stories, with hundreds of students obtaining their high school equivalency certification and going on to pursue post-secondary education, vocational training, and employment.
